For one off home builds, consider C-Flex. Maybe start here.

Re: Recommended fiberglass hull construction reads

yachtsurvey.com has some reading about the merits and pitfalls of different construction methods. Mostly about manufactured boats but it still applies.

Re: Recommended fiberglass hull construction reads

I've never built a boat but that Kelsall KSS method is really cool. You lay up the glass on a flat surface and then roll it up like an open cylinder and there's your hull. There's a vid of some guys doing a canoe in a couple of hours. Really cool.

Re: Recommended fiberglass hull construction reads

I will not suggest any reading (of which there is plethora on the web). But I will suggest building any basic boat in GRP as a quick-path-to-success-in-lamination.

Making all the likely errors in flesh is the single best lesson in GRP works I have ever had.

PS Basic online tuition materials from (e.g. West System, International) are both very good take off points.

Cheers,
b.

Re: Recommended fiberglass hull construction reads

we got some good info from a book the Glen-L sells. We used them when building the small sailboat when I was growing up:

Fiberglass Boatbuilding for Amateurs-boatdesign

Not sure if it's out of date or anything anymore.
