Remote Bilge Pump

Hello friends.

I have got a low bilge and a shower bilge and would like to use one bilge pump and one thru hull to handle both bilges. Does anyone manufacture a remotely mounted bilge pump with two inlet ports? I’m not having any success with my search.

Thank you, Capt Jazz

There may be a reason. Two inlets would allow one side to suck air while the other was under water. You would need access to a valve to choose one or the other. Two pumps sounds like a simpler solution.

That's not going to work, air will be drawn through which ever has the inlet higher or free of water.

You could use two pumps and one outlet.

Re: Remote Bilge Pump

On my boat I have a diaphragm pump with a y valve. The outlet from the y valve goes overboard. Input 1 is the shower. Input 2 the mid-bilge. I have the same setup on both sides. The only problem with my setup is that I have a momentary switch. When my daughter left the hose running while cleaning at the end of the season I had a pretty full bilge. I used a piece of wire to keep the pump going.

With the Y valve you need to select which you are pumping so not automatic though I guess you could just put the Y after the pump and leave normally in the bilge position.

Cheers

Re: Remote Bilge Pump

I would think there would be a demand for a remote bilge pump that would automatically sence which inlet was calling for power and automatically close the other.
