Renting Satellite comms

Not sure if this is the correct forum, mods move if not so...

Taking boat from Bahamas to MA, hoping to do in mid June via ocean only. About 1k mi, could be anywhere from 6 to 12 day trip, we will have no cell service, no SSB. If it is going to take more than 6 days, we will probably head in wherever to resupply.

We want to rent a Sat phone for any emergency. Not sure if you can rent Garmin inreach as well or if we should even consider this vs. Sat. We hope NOT to ever have to turn this on.

There are 4 of us, don't really care about small diff in price, if it is 50 day for sat with many features vs. 30 for inreach with only text, we probably go for the sat.

Looking for some advice on what/where etc to rent a device. The on board instruments have Sirius XM so we get weather. I do have a computer with opencpn so I could turn on phone every few days to get gribs, but not sure we need that with the Sirius. Thanks in advance for any inputs.

Yah, did that. That's why I am posting here, to see what others have used and how it worked out. Hoping someone can say, use these guys, or don't use these guys.
