I'm not sure yet why this might be important or useful, at this point its just a casual observation. Is this perception born out by the facts?

These days there is social media...and everybody posts anything.
We hit a Humpback on the Qld coast doing 6 kn downwind in 35ft of water,.... sort of side on ..shook the rigging..
The whale dived under the aft of the yacht ( 47' cold moulded)
My biggest worry was it hitting the rudder and skeg....
Never touched it...
