Gotta quibble with the headline. There is a YC near the Edgewood YC whose name is actually Rhode Island Yacht Club. They're ok as far as I know.

Don't know about that anymore. That was my first thought also for both fires, but after seeing the horrible wiring sailvayu posted for the NC fire and reading that the Edgewood YC had a recent renovation, they both could have been caused by poor electrical wiring.

Either way, it is a good reminder to re-evaluate boat heating methods for safety for the benefit of us and our neighbors.
