Sail Loft in Panama ?

Does anyone know of or had any experience with a sail loft or repairing sails in Panama? I have a friend that just sailed from Ecuador to Panama and his mainsail was shredded on the way up. I am flying down to help him take his boat through the canal the first week in January and am considering taking some sail cloth with me. He has a sewing machine on board. He'd just like to have it repaired as he is dealing with a lot after his girl friend died on the way up. Needless to say he has a lot on his plate. He has a Passport 40.

We used ABC sails, based in Linton. They came and collected our Yankee from Shelter bay marina, repaired it and returned it to us. All within the agreed time frame and at a reasonable cost for the work.
