Re: Sailblogs.com

We use sailblogs. It's easy and cheap. We upgraded so there are no ads on our blog.

Re: Sailblogs.com

Hello Ralph,

Looked at your blog; it does look uncluttered and well structured. I have a Delorme inReach which does track us nicely.

I'll check it out. Thank you to all respondents.

Re: Sailblogs.com

You can get free without ads blog hosting with wordpress and blogspot as well. It used to be the case that sailblogs charged for some features that were included on the free hists but I havent looked in a while.

Re: Sailblogs.com

Another one is google (yes they own it) Blogger.

I really hate reading other people on Sailblog. I hate layout.. I'm not sure if its just the templates they pick.

I started on blogger, but moved to Wordpress and hosted it myself. Not free, but pretty cheap for hosting at Godaddy and I control it all myself; no ads unless I put them there or allow them.

Wordpress can also be hosted free some places, though you may not have the same control.

Wordpress is head and shoulders superior to Blogger, Blogger/Blogspot is really clumsy by comparison. You can extend WordPress incredibly with tons of free plugins and addons in a way you can't with Blogger and you have many varied choices of look, feel and style that you can't do on Blogger either.

I wish that Sailblogs had a feature though where I could mirror my blog there or have my posts from Wordpress feed over there. The concentration of sailing related blogs in one community has to be better for driving traffic.
