Sailing Book

I hope someone can help me. Years ago I read a book about a sailing adventure (I am pretty sure it was a true story) that I cannot remember the title or the author. In the book a woman passenger was struck by a flying fish and fainted. She also had a bowel movement on an expensive oriental rug on the boat.

I hope someone has read the book and can give me the title of it; unfortunately I lost my library in hurricane Katrina. I tried the library of congress and they suggested this site as they could not help me.
