Hi there,

I'm new to the forum so forgive this post.

I just bought a Catalina 30 last month. I'm looking to move aboard march 1st. My city has lockdowns - I'm looking to study whatever I can in practical terms until then and continuing on. I am familiar with sailing but when searching google for courses, it's all sailing courses. Are there any online resources or things worth reading (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, marine life) just to pass the time and prepare.. Even building a checklist for projects - just kind of looking for ideas as i'm beyond excited but with lockdowns keeping busy is tough.

Any thoughts or ideas are welcomed. I'm going to peruse the forum - even forum recommendations are good.

Don Casey's illustrated sailboat maintenance book is out there. Amazon says they have it in stock but they just cancelled my order for it because it's out of stock.

For generally boating Chapman Piloting and Seamanship, for maintenance Nigel Calder’s boat owners mechanical and electrical manual. For most everything else Steve and Linda Dashew’s cruising encyclopedia.
