It's fine. Mask up and have proof of vaccination.

Re: Sailing into Costa Rica 2022

From Noonsite:

With the continual change in protocols due to the pandemic, we outline the last-known situation below for yacht arrivals. Skippers should follow the recommended links in “resources” to confirm the latest protocols. Always check with your intended port of arrival before getting underway to be 100% certain of what is required. Please e-mail editor@noonsite.com if you find protocols have changed.
COVID-19: OPEN
Yachting Protocols:
January 2022
  • Costa Rica allows all travelers to enter its borders untested and unvaccinated. Unvaccinated travelers, however, must buy health insurance to cover their medical and accommodation expenses should they contract Covid (see below).
  • Yachts can enter Costa Rica, but only at the following marinas: Golfito, Los Sueños, Pez Vela, Banana Bay and Papagayo.
  • Inbound yachts must dock in authorized marinas and register in advance with an agent to handle the arrival protocols. Typically the agent will require at least eight days advance notice of arrival to handle the paperwork with the agencies.
  • Confirm your ETA at least 72 hours before arrival with your agent/port of entry.
  • The Costa Rican Government is not requiring Covid-19 tests as a requirement to enter the country.
  • Vaccinated travelers (2 does applied at least 14 days prior to arrival in Costa Rica) should bring their vaccination certificate.
  • Non-vaccinated travelers must have medical insurance (see https://www.ins-cr.com/seguros-para-viajero/). In case of doubts with the medical insurance, the passengers and crew of yachts or sailboats can write to seguros.marinas@ict.go.cr.
  • Complete the online Health Pass [https://salud.go.cr/] for all crew members prior to departure. Vaccinated travelers must attach their certificate to the Health Pass.
  • Quarantine may be applied on a case-by-case basis, however if you have been at sea for 14 days or more it is unlikely.
  • See www.visitcostarica.com for full details.
  • Visit Clearance for further entry details.

If the above is accurate, this is quite a departure from the days when you could simply drop your hook and visit the Capitania, Immigration and Customs on your own.
