We like to refer to fenders in that case as "Boat Boogers".

I have heard them called that myself. What's worse, it was a boat owner friend of mine.

As far as leaving fenders out when underway, I has seen this on trailered boats on the highway.

It's up to you -- both are correct. "Saloon" is more British, but still correct everywhere. Yanks favor "salon" or "main cabin."

It is also quite correct drink moonshine, or any other adult beverage, in your saloon on your boat.

Where there is no choice, however, is the phrase ". . . between the Admiral and me", not "I".

My Father would roll over in his grave. "down stairs"? It's Below, it's not a house. You don't leave you fenders out underway I hope LOL. Just bustin chops. Easy Reese, step away from the transmission. ( that's for the blockhead who will get all upset with my comment). There's always one

Sorry D fresh. I'm just amazed at some of the posts sometime. I misinterpreted yours I admit. For that I apologize. lol I was just cranky as I posted some; what I thought was intelligent information on a propane thread, only to have some idiot compare it turning off a TV. I don't know why I let it get to me. Think I need a Pacifico and my sense of humor back. F-ing snow is making me cranky.

This may be an idea! Would they still be tacky on a car? I drive the 405 through LA daily now and think I may try fenders on my car. It's scary out there.

I'm not sure anything would be tacky in LA.

Re: Salon or Saloon??

Saloon , a salon is a gathering of disparate people for discussion ,concept rather than a room . Or a place to get your nails done .
I think that Americans with their history of prohibition don’t like the word saloon

No, sorry:
"Salon

"Definitions

*noun A large room, such as a drawing room, used for receiving and entertaining guests.
  • noun A periodic gathering of people of social or intellectual distinction.
  • noun A hall or gallery for the exhibition of works of art.
  • noun A commercial establishment offering a product or service related to fashion."
https://www.wordnik.com/words/salon

Saloon is the same word. Both cognate to German "Saal", Italian "Salone" -- hall.

"Saloon

"Definitions. . .
  • . . .
  • noun A large room or hall for receptions, public entertainment, or exhibitions.
  • . . .
  • noun A large social lounge on a passenger ship.
  • . . . "
Ibid.

Either one is perfectly correct.
