Shakespeare 390 HF antenna

I have replaced my Shakespeare 5310 HF whip antenna with a Shakespeare 390 HF whip antenna. The constructions on these are slightly different. On the 5310, a threaded stud came out of the fiberglass about a foot up from the bottom on which the (GTO 15) cable from the external tuner is attached with a tightened nut. On the 390, there is a termination band (i.e. a stainless steel band of about 1/3in height that goes around the fiberglass antenna and has ends that bend out orthogonally with holes so that a bolt can accept the cable from the external tuner and be tightened with a nut) about the same height up from the antenna bottom. The band is loose when the bolt is loosened, but it appears to press against a small protruding stud on the back that comes out of a small hole in the fiberglass. There is no solder connection. Also, the band has a small indent that seems to want to align to the small hole in which is the stud. Presumably, this is how electrical connection is made to the antenna.

My question is, Is my understanding of the band and the stud correct in their purpose and how they are to be aligned and connected to each other?

Re: Shakespeare 390 HF antenna

Your understanding is correct!

Connect the antenna feed (GTO 15) to the band tabs using the bolt and nut and tighten to secure the band against the protruding stud while aligning the indent in the band with the stud.
