Spring

When I moved to this area I asked the local farmers when spring started. First sunny day in February I was told. Then it would snow all through March. We started this March with many nights at minus ten. This can be a problem for the baby lambs. Spring for me is when it stays above freezing at night. This happened about ten to 14 days ago. This also coincided with the most reliable indicator of spring. The Says Phoebe arrived about ten to 14 days ago. They are a really sweet bird and go out of their way to say hello. The Robin is not an indicator of spring as they are here year round. For the people that live next to the lake the first sign of spring is the equipment manager ( me ) for the sailing fleet out in a power boat checking the marks.
