As cruisers start to move south in about a month be prepared to by pass Morehead City and Beaufort areas for any type of planned maintenance or work done on your boat.
By pass means not to count on services,otherwise we have recovered enough to navigate and enjoy our area,shopping,restaurants etc,just the problem is the marine services.
Boatyards are in general unable to take your boat on their yards as every inch is taken by damaged boats,if you thought to have some kind of service on your boat while here ,forget it,every kind of service is overwhelmed,most reputable firms will book with weeks waiting time,other not so reputable,will get you hooked with a first call but the job will become a nightmare of no shows,skips and people not finishing the job etc,that is if you ever get someone to even return a call.
