Staying Near La Cruz MX in Dec. 2019

My wife and I are visiting Puerto Vallarta Dec 14-29, 2019. We are going to stay the first week in LaCruz de Huancaxtle. We plan to explore the town and would enjoy visiting with anyone in/at the Marina there so we can get the lay of the land (Marina).

It is in our planning to move and live as expats in PV, and La Cruz really appeals. Yes a sailboat would be involved, but that is another thing.

In fact we are in year 3 of a plan that has us pointed to this. Reduce/sell/consolidate, generate alternate incomes, etc.

If any of you folks have useful contacts or are willing to help the hapless , we would be much obliged.

Best Regards.

I use Romeo in Tobago Caus.
He makes the best BBQ lobster.
In Bequia, it helps to be friends with Zoro. Brainsly Olivere.

At that time, the marina will be bustling with cruisers. Hang out at the “Olympic” sized pool, you’ll meet lots. Take a handheld VHF and you can listen to the 0830, 22A net and know what activities are going on.

neither of these is anywhere near la cruz de huanacaxtle, nayarit mexico.
la cruz is a sweet lil town in banderas bay, bucerias is livelier, and pv has 6 peso tacos if you go to the correct location in industrial zone. enjoy your christmas visit. is very festive there during holidays
there are many lovely restaurants in la cruz, so itis difficult to recommend anywhere over any other where.
ana bananas had breakfast, and dinner with music and fun, many other restaurants and hangout places to enjoy

the names of the clubs has changed since 2012...i left in 2012.. but the place is a good one. check into the cruisers vhf net to learn more. i believe someone left that info in a comment earlier.
i know the restaurant up the hill we used to call 109 due to the pricing is still open but i donot know name other than 109 and the prices are a smidge higher i have been advised--is well worth the price and has awesome view. great for lunch and has kiddies menu and tequila with lunch. great food and service. walk thru la cruz, cross streeet, and walk up driveway. the restaurant on the right is spanish from spain food, and 109 is the one on left.

Re: Staying Near La Cruz MX in Dec. 2019

I will file an after action report with Highlights after our trip so others can benefit.

We visited for a week during Christmas in 2018 and had a grand time with a warm and excellent people. Best Tacos (so far) were at a tiny place called "Tacos Netto" in Pitillal. They roasted the corn nixtamal into a masa in the early morning and and pressed the tortilla right there, add fresh meats and fixin's assembled by a platoon of focused grandmothers and you have a plan for excellence!

Regards all. Windy P
