Swap Slips (or mooring) Summer 2013: Annapolis for LI Sound

I would like to take a cruise from the Annapolis area up to the LI Sound area next summer. I can take two weeks to sail up and cruise a bit, then I'd like to come home for four weeks leaving the boat up there, before returning to sail for another two weeks arriving back home around mid August. I will be out of my slip from approximately June 22 until August 16, 2013. I would need a slip or a mooring from approximately July 5 until approximately August 5.

I don't know if this is feasable but I'm looking to see if there's anyone who might want to try to make a swap for the dates indicated. My slip would be available for roughly eight weeks (6-22 to 8-16) and I would need a slip or mooring up north for about four weeks (7-5 to 8-5). My slip comes with water and electricity (30 amp), is 34' X 14', with a minimum controlling depth of 6' MLW (the tide is about 1'). The cruising grounds of the Chesapeake are legendary with Annapolis (7 miles), Rock Hall (22 miles), St Michaels (25 miles), Oxford (22 miles), & Baltimore (30 miles) all within a days sail of my slip not to mention the many, many anchorages between as well as the rest of the beautiful Chesapeake Bay.

Also, if anyone has any advice on a reasonable mooring or slip anywhere in that region where I could leave the boat and not have to take out a mortgage to pay for it I'd apprciate the lead.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

If your slip is in a marina you might want to ask them about this swap. I know my marina would never go for it. No subletting of any kind. Maybe if I offered to pay some extra cash they might consider it. But some other boat and owner it my slip for 6 weeks would most likely not happen.
A slip swap would be a great way to cruise. Not so much for marinas.
