Tivoli Sails at last

We purchased Tivoli 3 years ago, she is a Far East Mariner, a 40" heavy full keeled ketch. She had no engine and was totaly stripped of all hardware. The decks and cockpit had been rebuilt and down below was still beatiful. We put in a new Westerbeke 64A, re installed the rigging, winches, radio, overhauled the masts and on and on and on. We have done most of the work ourselves, long hard days. We stepped the masts in Septmeber 07. Last Sunday we motored down the CT river and into Long Island Sound. We raised the sails for the first time, it was wonderful, I cant believe how well she sailed. At the end of the month we will unstep the masts and put her away for the winter. Next spring we will sell our house and move on board and soon after head South. Let the adventure began. Just wanted to share our excitment....

Aloha Mike and Paula,

Congratulations!!

I loved my all wood Mariner 35 built in Japan in '67 and I'm certain you love Tivoli as much. Great performing cruisers!!!

The most fun sail to fly was the mizzen staysail. If you don't have one then it is a good investment.

Yes, mine was designed by Bill Garden.

Thumbs up

I am also coming to the end of a three year re-fit and can empathize with the long days. Good luck and "Gods Speed".
