UK Small Ships Register

Hi everyone,

I would like help regarding the UK SSR

My yacht is currently registered with the UK SSR, the registration is due for renewal shortly, but it is currently moored in Crete and has been for the last 2 years and I live on the boat. The UK SSR requires me to be resident in the UK for at least 185 days per year and provide evidence of this, which I am unable to do as I only return to the UK occasionally.

If anyone can offer me advice as to what I should do regarding registration, I would be very grateful. My preference if possible would be to retain UK registration.

Re: UK Small Ships Register

Just use your UK address or that of a friend when you renew via credit card payment, it's a formality renewing.

The registration certificate will be sent to the address you put on the renewal form by the way so you will need to collect it or have it mailed to you.

Indeed , they've tighten up a bit these past few years and technically many are bending the rules a bit so pays to keep your head down ..
