Unknown Sail

Hey guys, I found these in my Morgan 27. Does anyone know what they are used for?
One looks like maybe a small sail for another boat? Maybe they were accidentally put on the Morgan?
But the other has some cable, and it is an odd shape. It is like an isosceles triangle. The clips are on the long side.

-Thanks, Oden

Re: Unknown Sail

They are reduced sail area sails. You need these when everything else is too big for conditions. There may be a storm trisail there used in place of the main and requires no boom. Often it is hoisted on a separate track. Look it up.

Ask your boat neighbors about the others and know how to use them before the weather gets that bad.

The jib on a cable is a reduced hoist storm jib most likely. I have one also. The cable permits the sail to operate without fouling on the roller furler.
