Upper Chesapeake Bay Heads Up!

Folks navigating the Upper Chesapeake Bay be alert for an unusually large amount of floating/partially submerged debris. We saw stumps, logs, timbers and branches from Tollchester to the C&D Canal.

Re: Upper Chesapeake Bay Heads Up!

Yeah we had a monsoon here last Thursday night...city docks were under water. Whenever that happens everything but the kitchen sink comes down the Susquehanna and takes a couple of weeks to flush out of the bay.

Re: Upper Chesapeake Bay Heads Up!

No doubt they had to open the Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna after last week's heavy rains.

A huge raft of debris is always the consequence.
