UV for roller furling

Looking to replace a UV cover, was looking at Insignia adhesive Cloth.

Looks simple to apply but some say in addition to the stick on it needs to be sewed on also

Another said it will stay on without stitching for a few years

Adhesive only application is a waste of your time and money. It will not last long especially on the leech which is subject to fluttering. That cloth is meant for letters and numbers in the middle of a sail that's why its called "insignia" cloth. It has no UV resistance either.
The whole point of UV cover is to protect an expensive sail from sun degradation. With respect, if you want to cheap out, be prepared to suffer the consequences down the line. The proper job is done with UV resistant cloth and sewing.

Re: UV for roller furling

We converted one of our old hank-ons to our roller furler (our furler accepts slides, so no bolt rope was needed) and in the process we added a UV strip. We used Sunbrella and followed guidance from this video from sailrite:

Re: UV for roller furling

I have it and it has been ok since 2013. However, I do try to cover the jib with my ATN sock if I won’t be sailing for awhile. UV insignia is lighter so the jib sets better.
