Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

THESE ARE OUR FAVORITE GALLEY ITEMS!

Instant Pot Duo Mini - By far, this has been the greatest addition to our galley. No more super hot kitchen when cruising or at anchor. And so easy to use. We use it at least 3-4x weekly, and sometimes more than once a day! We have 1125 watts of solar and run it late afternoon for dinner with plenty of solar to spare!

Frigidaire 40 Lbs Square Cube Icemaker - This is our newest addition. And we're loving it. Fits on our galley counter and we have as much ice as we need!
https://amzn.to/38Qu8aT

Aeropress Coffee Maker - We are coffee "snobs" and we've tried electric, stove top percolators, and french press. This is our daily go-to. We have two - one for each of us!!
https://amzn.to/2Vr2YUZ

Oster Express Bake Breadmaker - We've owned this one for 3 or 4 years. Has easily made over 150 loaves and makes awesome bread the way you want it (ie. light, normal, dark). Great recipe book comes with it and option of 1lb to 2lb loaves and quick 1 hour bake, which actually makes my favorite "white loaf". Biggest issue - finding yeast during COVID!!
https://amzn.to/2X7aVj1

Finally, we can't forget our YETI drinkware - we've customized yeti tall beer mugs, wine glasses, tumblers, coffee mugs, and high balls with our boat logo. They aren't cheap, but worth every penny!

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

Favourite items in the galley? Thats easy. Its my corkscrews. Most white wines I drink these days come with screwtops but the reds I drink always have a cork....
I say items & corkscrews because you have to have several backups - it would not do at all to be without a corkscrew on board.
Some people will read this & think I am kidding. Afraid not, folks. Scotch, bourbon or gin & tonics are all great but none of them are any substitute for a decent bottle of wine with your dinner.

Thermomix - best investment we've made for the galley but must be stowed properly in heavy seas

A good can opener. I'm no cook. The MW oven gets a flogging though.

Wood screw and pliers works well as a substitute screw pull. Just saying.

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

lots of good ideas already posted. But a simple one is thermal cups that have nice tight lids and open bottom handles that can be used to hook the cup on edges in the cockpit for safe keeping while at sea.

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

Someone mentioned boat mugs. Here's ours. The best thing I ever bought from West Marine:

This does my coffee in the morning, holds cold water throughout the day, then becomes my beer mug in the evening. Perfect.

Re: What is your favorite item in your Galley?

Our approach has been utilitarian:

1. Nesting pots/pans (from Welcome Aboard, made by Cuisenart at the time, and now sold by Magma)... augmented with a couple extra Cuisenart lids.

2. Corelle tableware (two sets, minus the ceramic coffee cups).

3. Small Instant Pot (3-qt).

4. Slow cooker (for meals larger than what the IP will handle, usually intending to freeze leftovers for future meals).

5. Henkel knives.

I'm surprised some have mentioned wood plates; would have thought they'd be a pain to clean. We have some wooden salad bowls at home, extra work...
