There are many hacks for no spot finishes. I like to use "no impact" solutions when dealing with stuff that makes it's way into the environment. How good is ammonia for marine life?
I know, a little hypocritical... a power boater preaching about a no impact approach. I make every effort to offset the carbon footprint of my privileged hobby.

What PSI is recommended for a pressure washer on a fiber glass boat?

Re: What’s your wash down procedure?

As Sailorboy said: There’s a procedure?

My boat lives on a swing mooring. It would require 500 metres of hose to rinse it down even if there was a fresh water source on the beach which there isn’t. Unless of course some are suggesting to run a watermaker to wash the boat. How silly would that be?

If my decks need a rinse, I do it with a few buckets of sea water. Rain does the rest. But then, as I always say, trying to keep a 30-year old boat looking new is totally a mug’s game.

Re: What’s your wash down procedure?

I think I entered the wrong chat room. The only thing I rinse when I get back to harbor is my mouth and throat with a good cold beer.

And what Pirate Guy said.

The boat works for me, not me for the boat.

I's not the fiberglass you worry about, it's the sealant. If you get close you will create leaks, if you stay back ~ 18 inches and use a fan tip you'll be fine... but at the safe distance a brush is better. And really, power washing should be AT MOST a once-per-year thing.

End of the day, it’s a new boat so want to keep it looking like that as long as possible. Appreciate the feedback.

Re: What’s your wash down procedure?

You might want to try using sudsy ammonia in lieu of soap. It's what many of the pro crews on mega yachts. I like the fact that it doesn't leave water spots and cleans well. Just a thought.

Re: What’s your wash down procedure?

It's called rain. I so rarely stay at marinas and have access to a water hose.

Re: What’s your wash down procedure?

For all you ammonia guys, ammonia apparently wrecks plexiglas hatches.
Buying new hatches versus water spots seems like an obvious choice to me
