What to Bring?

Hi Friends,

Need some advice on clothing for a passage from Copenhagen, Denmark leaving mid August, to Almeria, Spain, arriving aprx October 1. I will be traveling Internationally by air to meet the boat and am limited to one bag of 50 pounds. I plan on bringing

weather gear">foul weather gear, (Jacket, Pants, Boots)
wool sweater and cap,
fleece top, waterproof shell
boat shoes
sneakers
2 pair of sunglasses
openair poly bottom & top (for under foul weather gear)

Then pack my regular clothes
2 pair of jeans
2 pair short pants
a few short sleeve polo shirts
a few long sleeve tees
some underwear and socks

My first concern is having enough of and or the correct clothing for the cruise. Whats the right stuff to wear under foulies in different weather?
55 footer, 6 on board, I want to be on deck and not hunkered down
because I'm too cold or hot.
So, did i miss anything? What would you bring?
This is my first passage in Europe and don't yet have a bead on the weather in those waters during that part of the year. Any advice on what to pack and what weather to expect would be great.

Get rid of as much cotton as possible. It will absorb salt from the ambient and remain damp, clammy and stink. Synthetics that don't hold moisture, travel pants and shirts out of synthetics, wool sweater, socks, etc. take cloths you can layer, always seems to be colder at sea than hanging out at the beach.

Re: What to Bring?

Like roverhi said. I would take only one pair of city pants but more fleece and base layers: consider the possibility of getting drenched by a wave while sailing...

I suggest taking some washing powder in a small container with a screw-on lid.
