This is what a former America's Cup yacht is doing on San Francisco Bay (https://www.acsailingsf.com/). It's fun to watch her during Friday night buoy racing.

Re: What to do with Police Car.

She sat in Hardys Bay for years thoroughly neglected- is she still there?

In a similar vein, we recently passed through St. Martan with a stop over in Philipsberg. There, Dennis Connors' old "Stars and Stripes" '87 (the original 12 meter mono-) is moored along with Canada's "True North" (KC-'87) in Great Bay with the boats "raced" against one-another albeit crewed by tourists. The event is somewhat "spendy" but I could not resist an opportunity to sail on one of the boats during our stop-over and so dragged my (much!) better half along for a sail. The boats are fast and thrilling and a lot of fun and my wife conceded she'd enjoyed the event but also declared that it made her even more grateful for the comforts of our First 42 (also a race boat but turned cruiser).

FWIW...

Was Azzura 2 still there.. last time I saw her a couple of years ago, she was on a buoy in the lagoon on the W side and S of Sandy Ground. She was bought and done up for that reason.. charters to folks wanting the old America Cup experience.

Unfortunately, Boatman, I don't believe she survived the storm last year. Stars'n Stripes and True North were reportedly the only two that came through relatively intact. St. Martin really took a licking in that storm although Philipsberg is now largely back in order. The rest of the island, not so much...

She was up for sale I know.. hope the owner had full insurance and got some money back.. he did invest a lot in getting her there from Denmark and doing her up.. shame she is lost.
