Where Should I Look for a Boat?

Hi everyone,

I live in the midwest, but I'm going to buy a sailboat to live and cruise on next year. What are some of the best places on the Gulf Coast or East Coast to look for good deals on boats? I'm checking all the ads I can online, but when I buy one I'll need to look at it in person, and I'd like to be able to look for unadvertised boats too. I'm currently able to travel quite a bit - so anywhere on the Gulf Coast or East Coast would be fine. I'm looking for something around 32 feet, but a little bigger or smaller would be ok too. I've got money saved up, a steady income, and I'll continue to work from the sailboat once I'm living on it. And I'm fine with repairing things too.

Gracias!

Half the fun is looking.

I found my 32 aft cabin ketch on a 6 wheel trailer ready to go down the road in LA, CA. The surveyor said every bank had a sailboat in their parking lot for sale. The economy there is pretty bad, and taxes going up will not help people hold on to luxury items like boats.

Welcome to the forum. I live in the m.west also, Nebraska.

For sailing, I'd go to Annapolis.
