Re: Which Drone?

So, a few days ago I flew my Mavic off my boat. Here's what I learned.. if you're sailing at over 7 knts, and the drone is set in standard mode, it cannot catch you against a 16+ knt wind. You will have to switch to sport mode.. and, if you're trying to catch it, it is not easy to do while flying in sport mode. So, I hove to, still, I crashed it into a shroud and fortunately it just flipped skyward and recovered, so no loss, but I will not do that again for sure. I thought for sure it was going for a swim. It's plenty easy, if it's steady, to grab onto.. just stay away from the down sensors. Hove to, rockin' seas, windy.. not so easy, but I did it. I'll wait for better conditions next time, still, I think I'll hove to to catch it.

Re: Which Drone?

We tried out our new Splash Drone 3 today at the local country club. The temperature was only 25 degrees F, but the Splash Drone 3 worked perfectly and was so easy to operate. We watched the three youtube videos on setup, and the drone performed the “return to home” function, landing exactly where it took off from.

Battery time was at the very least 20 minutes, but we didn’t push it due to the cold temperature.
