Why do sailors head NE in the winter?

Hello, I'm sure its a stupid newbie question, but I've noticed at least 3 or 4 Youtube sailors head NE in October/November. I'm sure the boat show">Annapolis boat show (Oct 9th-11th) and Hurricane season/insurance (Jun-Nov) causes many to head north...ish, but many are heading to much colder areas. What am I missing or not understanding?

Do most head North, then haul out around December?

Could be my limited enjoyment of colder temps.

Are you sure the videos your watching aren't just behind? Most youtube sailing channels are at least a month behind, most more like 6 months behind. You may be watching them head NE in the early summer to avoid hurricane season.

Hurricane Season.
From August to November you have to either be in the Northeast of in the southern Caribbean at or below Grenada.
Many people go to Florida and have their boats taken out of the water for service during this period.

Its possible, just seemed unusual for that many of them to post at the same time.

They want the boat north of their insurance company's limit and closer to home. No more complex than that.

Once hurricane season is over (Dec) the majority head back south for the duration of the winter and into spring.

I’m in the north east on the Long Island sound, all the vessels that “migrate” in my harbor (Oyster Bay), come up for hurricane season and back down the coast on the heals Of the season sometime in the fall between end of September and the late October area pending storms.
