Why dont I hear much about the Turks?

Seems everything I read about cruising the Caribbean its all about the Bahamas or island chains. Even lots of PR and Dominican. The Turks and Caicos seems to be at the bottom of the list I hear about. Is there a reason for that? Not many good anchorages and marinas or what? Id think with all the islands there it would be popular like the Bahamas. That does not seem to be the case, at least from my standpoint.

$300 cruising permit (90 days). $50 clearance in, $50 clearance out and $50 per person per month immigration fees.


So $500 for 1 month for 2 people
or $700 for 3 months for 2 people


Emergency stop in one place for 5 days was $200, no cruising permit.


The people are friendly.
