I had the opposite problem this summer. New boat, I'm new to anchoring and we motored into an anchorage in Rockport, MA and did our best to pick the next closest spot that I thought would be safe..... took the dinghy to shore and realized that we were WAY far away from everyone. I suppose everyone must have thought we wanted our privacy! Later in the day 2 more boats came in and filled in the empty space.

But,, These pepoles rudeness is un-beliveable! I mean this guys like fifteen feet from me and the rivers a mile and a third wide! WTF??? So, i stop and nicely ask the guy "Why so close" he says, "We're apart, not touching" then forgets how to speak english.
LOAD DOG POOP
I think a little X-mas present might be in order here as long as its an easy doggy poop toss

Does canada have such crappy anchorages that they are used to being intimently close or is it just streotypical rudeness?
In defence of my friends from French Canuckistan, I've noticed that no one group appears to have a monopoly on being idiots. You're just 0 for 2 this week with the Quebeckers. Could be worse.

I too, am planning a trip to Poland

Keep your nationalistic slurs to yourself.

It's a 'pack mentality' thing. A lack of the frontier spirit. The same type group together on the interstate and think it's safer. You'll also find them in a campground full of empty sites pulling in next to yours.
Weak and pathetic in my view...
