Wind and Wave History

I helped another cruisersforum member deliver his Bahia catamaran from Cape May to Ft. Lauderdale two weeks ago. In the early morning of Wednesday, the 28th of October, we where hit by a storm between Cape Hatteras and Cape Lookout. I've tried to get the statistics from the national weather buoy's and they are listed in meters/second.

Can any of you direct me to a site where I can get the wind speed and wave heights for this time frame? Our anemometer was broke and the waves looked like freight trains. I'm guessing the wind at 30 knots sustained with gusts to 40 and waves from 10' to 14'.

Any help/info will be appreciated.

Here you go: Pick your buoy and there's a history for each one:

NDBC - North Carolina Recent Marine Data

all in feet and knots.

That's where I had been looking, but when I pull up the 45 day history it's listed in M/S. Maybe I'll have to figure out how to convert. Thanks for the assistance.

Sorry, I'm not great with math but what would 13 meters / second convert to in knots?

It's ok to be a wimp.

Though sometimes I don't think the buoys tell the whole story. I look at some of them around here and wonder what they were thinking, or I was thinking reefing when they are only reporting 6 knots.
