Work list

Just for the interest of those who are contemplating doing upgrades on their boats or buying a project boat, the following (long, sorry) list is my project list that I started on a September last year. The number per item is obviously sequential, the x in brackets are the items already done.

Some jobs are insignificant 5-minute events but some (like 19, build new roof) are big projects taking months not minutes.

- [x] 1 Fix anchor winch oil leak
- [x] 2 Remake oil pressure gauge connection (main engine)
- [x] 3 Remake aft heads light connection
- [x] 4 Straighten rear swim stairs
- [x] 5 Fix engine panel lights

- [ ] 8 Make frames for deck hatches
- [x] 9 Get/install new rubber gaskets for 12 port lights
- [x] 10 Profile new windows for 12 portlights and install
- [x] 11 Reinforce outboard bracket on pushpit
- [x] 12 Repair port horseshoe frame
- [x] 13 Rework bearings in wind generator 6202-2rs 15x35x11
- [x] 14 Rework pulleys/belts on watermaker (ratio change)
- [x] 15 Contact Doyle re UV strip on genoa (sail re-stitched)
- [ ] 16 Make spacer for mainsail sheet winch 155 diam 55 thick
- [x] 17 Replace starboard genoa sheet
- [x] 18 Replace zips on starboard entrance clear
- [x] 19 Build new roof for cockpit enclosure (Incl major rework of clears, new lights)

- [x] 84 Restitch Stacpac and refurbish lazyjacks
- [x] 85 Replace catch on galley pot locker
- [x] 86 Refit front panel to companion way slider
- [x] 87 Make and fit handles to galley lockers (x6)
- [x] 88 Make new cockpit locker to replace instrument pod
- [x] 89 Install and commission new AIS navigator
- [x] 90 Move instruments to roof incl attach & commission Raymarine remote
- [ ] 91 Refinish and repaint complete deck
- [ ] 92 Make/fit handle rails to locker doors in aft head
- [x] 93 Secure door runners in aft head lockers
- [ ] 94 Replace incandescent bulbs in tricolour and anchor light with LED
- [ ] 95 Replace forestay with new 1x9 10mm SS wire, refurbish genoa furler
- [ ] 96 Replace 60m 10mm anchor chain

It is my desire to get as much done as possible before I sail to Fiji in May, there are quite a few jobs that are cosmetic and probably won’t make the cut.

I’d be interested to know how this compares to your “list”.

CassidyNZ. That is an impressive list and quite an accomplishment that you have already completed so many items. I’m not crossing oceans but my list for this winter was only about 40 items. I’m still working on replacing the gaskets on all 13 portlights along with replacing about half of the portlight dog assemblies.

I was talking with a friend about boat work and he told me had completed his to do list...now he just needed someone to do it!
