'Seems to me like you have the situation under control and moving forward. You should maybe take the CF helm more often until the two of you get used to things.

Regarding Westerbeke parts: We have a Westerbeke generator onboard, and since the parts are quite expensive, I've tried to substitute parts in the past without much luck. Westerbeke tends to machine the parts in such a way that many aftermarket or substitute brands don't fit properly, which can lead to much frustration. Even something as simple as a Johnson water pump impeller for the Westerbeke, the pin is sized just a hair smaller, so the aftermarket or Johnson impeller won't fit.

The frustration lies in that you wait for the substitue part to arrive, only to discover that you must do it all over again via Westerbeke.

Good luck.

Hi Ken! you sure can stir the pot and make me shudder....

Cold as up hell here in the "motherland" I hope you are staying warm.

I enjoy the forum and thank you Mods for the great jobs you do.

Be well all!
You're welcome onboard anytime, our cockpit is always open to all CF members.

Today it's 10 degrees F here in Whooville, just North of Boston with a wind chill of -1F. Or to those who speak metric, it's -12C with a wind chill of -24C. Snowed six inches last night, but it's beautiful today. I was out in the woods photographing the snow scenes early this morning for a few hours.

Unfortunately we rarely drive them; my new job is less than 3 miles from the bunker.

Yes I am a newbie to cruising, but old enough to know humanity and young enough to lend a helping hand if needed and when I do get out there on the water full time, I hope im not in the same anchorage as most of you.

Just an outsider looking in and disappointed in what I saw... I'm out
Edited...

I have not read the 30 page report... however when you join a forum you take from it and in my view I try to give more than take. I have been in rescue work for 31 years and have stopped counting at 716 rescues. I still do some for training of others who want to help. If some people did not want to jump in to help, you are not placed in a position to evaluate why or why not they decided to do what they did nor are you in a position to give an opinion and slam down a forum like this one. If you nose is out of joint... you still have your opinion. Do not sucker the other members to your game and try to send them on a guilt trip. Hate to see you leave... you could learn... but then I say to "myself" let the ones who want to have fun continue to have fun and the ones who want to leave... just go and vaporize and no one will know.... As you quoted, "Just an outsider looking in and disappointed in what I saw... I'm out." Follow your dreams...

I have been on the water for a long long long time and still am. I travel with my personal boat. I am now retired and also working part time on a tug boat. You can also learn a lot from me as I did many years in teaching trades in electronics, electrical, construction, welding stick, mig and tig, drafting, design of boats and boat building and racing, mechanical in automotive and industrial, in gas and diesel rebuilds, rescue work inshore and offshore. I have also taught rescue work to Police, Coast Guard and locals in Canada, US, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico and others. I also am a specialist in locating for recovery, when some ones disappears and goes missing.

I really like this forum and I will continue enjoying the conversations...

And I thought all the drama queen crap had actually subsided nicely.
This thread seemed to be going back on track to resolve the op's original issue.

Let's back of for a while and stay positive...

Well said meatservo. It does make it difficult to read the real helping CF folks . Have to filter through all the rest I guess. Is what we've been doing. It's getting better tho. Thanks [emoji1]
