Re: Change of Plan

I can recommend Vila for a stopover. It has a fuel dock which Luganville doesn't, the water is good, the grocery shopping is good and the produce at the town market is just the best. Noumea is more expensive.

You can also get duty free on diesel and liquor.

Re: Change of Plan

The vegies I bought at the Vila Market were incredible, super fresh and top quality, Very cheap also,

I was anchored in Leui, Just north of Port Havanna, 10 feet of water, Fully protected on all sides, and caught a bus truck into port Vila, That road trip was grouse, over the hills and the scenery was some thing else,

I hope they told you that foreigners on those trucks have to give up their seats for pigs. Chickens not so much.

They are always fun on rainy days.

Re: Change of Plan

I caught up briefly with Phil over a couple of beers in Vila. He & his mate were waiting to meet the new crew flying in from Oz. Much anticipation as she was a youngish female. Never got to see her unfortunately.

Re: Change of Plan

There was a reason why women on board were considered unlucky.
Skipper, mate and a blessing. Odd mix! Phil, I know, is a gentleman.
