Re: Change of Plan

Got to take the rough with the smooth, I just hope there's a big chunk of smooth and breezy waiting just offshore for you.
I've got myself lumbered with two jobs, and another one wanting work doing today. After a year of tinkering with my little one (boat) I'm tired, irritable and haven't got time to invoice what I have done.
There have been some Aussi to US deliveries lately, keep an eye out for a straight back run.

Hi folks.... arrived Nuku Hiva 23rd after a 35 day run from Panama... tried posting the other day but got blocked by a glitch on here... not a bad run... best 181/24hrs... worst 71...
Pain is no potable water here so choice of run 775 to Tahiti... (outa d way)... or straight to American Samoa alleged shithole and 1895 from here.. strict rations 2.5 litres/day.
this place is drop dead gorgeous.....

Let me get this straight. There is no potable water but, there is Internet connectivity at Nuku Hiva? What strange cruising world we live in these days.

Re: Change of Plan

Go Boatie, get that groundsheet out for rain gathering, on land or at sea. That's not bad mileage, hopefully it's been plain sailing, would it have been any faster with crew?

Hi Folks... well here I am in American Samoa... wet but very nice...
Left Nuku Hiva Fri 28th June, arrived Pago Pago Friday the 13th July...
New fuel pump on the generator died so rigged gravity feed system using old dinghy fuel tank... works fine just need to crawl below to drain fuel from main tank into a jug then transfer into the temp one... next it was the impeller went....
Had some strong winds and big cross sea's the second week of the trip which had us rolling all over... coffee stains everywhere...
Crews jumping ship so looks like I'll be doing the Torres solo... should be interesting... lol

Re: Change of Plan

Geezus Krist! You should charge a boat overhaul fee or get 100% markup fee on parts and double per hour European boat mech fee. Good luck on the next leg. You've done single quite a lot as I remember. Where're you taking this rehab project? I forget. Or to you is this just a normal delivery? cheers!

Re: Change of Plan

My thoughts are with you. Not sure i want to be actually there though, but there is no better skipper and companion for a trip like that.
I learnt more in three days with you than I did with my own boat and the main thing was my own limitations.
