Cruising in South Australia

South Australia offers some of Australia’s finest summer sailing and cruising grounds, yet these places are virtually unknown outside of the State. Just remember to BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat) as there are no charter companies currently operating in South Australia.

Re: Cruising in South Australia

Now that's a good challenge

With South Australia having over 3,800km of coastline, you can only see a fraction of it in one summer.

IMO, the standout sailing areas are the entire North Coast of Kangaroo Island and Sir Joseph Banks Group in southern Spencer Gulf. The southern Fleurieu Peninsula and Yorke Peninsula also offer scenic sailing destinations.

Let me give some thought to what an itinerary would look like.

Re: Cruising in South Australia

Thanks scruzin.

We are from Victoria but have been cruising in the Med for the past 4 years. Our boat is on the way home now and having done the East Coast (many times!), Tasmania, Lord Howe, New Caledonia and Vanuatu (all twice), we are looking for new areas.
