Did You See "Fools Gold?"

The movie was filmed partly in Oz and I was wondering if anybody new where the beach scene was filmed at. It's a beautiful beach , and I guess it was filmed at low tide as the beach extended way offshore with a nice cut going all the way up to the mainland.
Thanks

Likely one of these locations:

Fool's Gold (2008/I) - Filming locations

Process of elimination + Google Earth (turn on Panoramia layer) would probably find your spot quickly.

According to wikipedia:
Warner Bros. and director Andy Tennant planned to shoot the film in the Caribbean, but decided on Queensland, Australia because the hurricane season in the Caribbean was likely to stall production of the film.
The Key West scenes were filmed in Port Douglas.
Filming also took place in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Hamilton Island, Lizard Island, Airlie Beach, and Hervey Bay. Scenes were also filmed at Batt Reef, where Steve Irwin died from a stingray barb in 2006.

Thanks, Gord and Arch.
I thought that the Key West scenes were really laughable. You can tell no one from the production company has ever been to KW. Really nice to know that KW now has hills after all these years (ha-ha). Guess one of the last storms pushed the beach up and got KW above sea level. Thanks again

I said the samething to my wife when we watched the movies. I lived in the Keys 2 yrs on my Cal 29 and was pretty sure that was not KW in the film. I kept interrupting the film making comments on how that is definitely not KW and got into to trouble from the missess.

That's Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. Whitsunday Island is next door to Hamilton Island, although Whitehaven Beach is on the opposite side, about 15 kms from Hamilton Island Marina. In 2016 Whitehaven Beach was awarded Australia's Most Popular Beach.
I instantly recognized it in the movie, having flown and boated to it a few times.

At the north end of Whitehaven is our favourite anchorage.

That's a magnificent photo man! Lovely looking digs there also. We're doing a bareboat thing there in September. Can't wait!

It was actually Betty's Beach at the entrance to Hill Inlet. The northern tip of Whitehaven ends at the other (southern) side of the entrance.

Walking on Whitehaven Beach with my crew.
Hill Inlet, with Whitehaven Beach in the background.

Are you referring to the photo, (because that's actually inside Hill inlet) or the movie location?

The beach scene where the musket was found.
