I liked doing the inside passage up to Prince Rupert, sailing and exploring the inlets, motoring when there isn't any wind. Roscoe Inlet is gorgeous, Ocean Falls is worth the trip up, stopping at NAMU is worth it to watch the humpback whales and explore, lots of beautiful little places to tuck into at night. Went to Skidegate from Prince Rupert and then worked our way down to Rose Harbour and then over to SGang Gwaay Ninstints. The hotsprings suffered from the earthquake. Barnaby passage is definitely worth seeing so plan on anchoring nearby and taking a kayak during low tide and drift over the kelp. "Newspaper" kelp is abundant! gorgeous!

Then, sail south to Pt. Hardy from Ninstints. Fog shows up there. approx. 150 nm. across to Vancouver Island. The Hecate Strait can be wild--a 40 foot sailboat got dismasted the week before our crossing--it limped into Shearwater just east of Bella Bella. B.C. is simply beautiful.
