Re: Eastern Philippines Still Suspect ?

There is an American who lives in Mindanao and goes by the trade name "Mindanao Bob" he has several good blogs and useful advice for different areas of travel .I have lived for short durations in Ozamiz City Mindanao with no problems but bad things have happened nearby several times while I was there . Usually it is not foreigners but political clashes . My wife kids and I are sailing back from the USA but we won't live there , we are open but have generally picked the Cuyo Island area

Thanks for the info... That is my plan... I wanted to retire to the Philippines but on a boat as opposed to being a 'dirt dweller'... 'Cause like you all say , and I agree, if you don't like things the way they're going, pull up anchor and go somewhere else.
