Fiji to New Zealand

My girlfriend and I are planning on attempting to find a yacht to crew on fom fiji to new zealand in mid/late october.
does anyone have any avice concerning the area and any ideas about the estimated time this journey could take?

It obviously depends upon where in NZ you end the trip but when I was a kid and did that trip with my parents, we stopped on Norfolk Is for 4 days which extended the trip to 9 days total.
