Got Aloha?? Hawaii crew anyone?

My goal: Become an accomplished blue water sailor. Build up knowledge and the confidence needed to sail the South Pacific on my own to Australia by 2012.

About me: I first went to sea in 1977. Worked on several cargo freighters. Jumped ship in Australia in’80, Returned to my island, Sri Lanka and married a local girl in ’85. Migrated with the family to USA in 91. Raised three kids in Portland, Oregon area. Marriage ended in 2004. Owned a 22’ Chrysler and part own RL 24’ sailboat in Australia. Lived and worked in rural Western Australia during 2008. Spent 5 months on the Big Island in Hawaii on my way back.

I am looking to sail with an experienced skipper to the Hawaiian Islands as a crew member on his/her boat. My wish is to learn everything I can about sailing and the cruising life. So I won’t feel intimidated sitting at the bar at the Port Hedland Yacht Club……….

My sea bag is packed and any point on the west coast is fine. I can do a work trade if there is any prep work on the boat while she is in dock.
