Princess Louisa scheduled tides

On July 14, we were in Princess Louisa Inlet, preparing to leave on the 10:40 turn. We arrived at Malibu Rapids within minutes of scheduled slack.

I estimate, based on the state of flood at that time, and the max flood that day, we were actually about an hour late.

Thing is, we have a variety of sources for currents/tides which all agreed within a minute or two or three in their estimates. All took PDT into account.

And other boats that went through on that turn left the anchorage at Chatterbox Falls about an hour before I did. I didn't know where they were going, but figured they just wanted to do some sightseeing.

They were long gone by the time I arrived at Malibu Rapids. We got through but flows that week were down.

Any idea what the other crews knew that we didn't?

Were those tide predictions for Malibu Falls or a location some distance away? In some areas even 20 -25 miles between reporting station and the area your at makes a big difference.
