Seeking a permanent yacht club membership between Seattle and Bellingham

Cheers,

I'm sure there's many whom have visited and/ or are member throughout this region. If you could add some insight it would be much appreciated.

We've really enjoyed our membership in the Seattle Yacht Club while we cruised the Salish Sea. Rich in knowledge sharing, great camaraderie, and facilities that are vastly superior to anything else in the region (the outstations scattered throught the area in particular).

Every club has different pros/cons, so hopefully others chime in with theirs.

My Wife and I made a visit to SYC last year. Very impressive surroundings and the Club has so much vast history. I get the impression some Clubs do not include marinas in this region. Once we settle down I guess we'll line up our ducks.
The more I look into moving west the more complicated it all seems.

Re: Seeking a permanent yacht club membership between Seattle and Bellingham

I'm the Regatta Chair of the Tyee YC here in Seattle. It's a smaller club, but very active in cruising and activities.

Seattle YC has outstanding facilities, and (as mentioned) some great club-member only outstations. However, the initiation and dues are somewhat high, as are the monthly dues and required quarterly purchases.

There are a number of great clubs here in the PacNW. PM me with any questions you may have.
