Sending Mail/small package to Hiva Oa ?

Hi,

I am looking for advice on sending a small package of replacement parts to a yacht in transit. Destination is Hiva Oa. The Capt. is suggesting sending the items direct to the Hiva Oa post office with "vessel in transit, S/V boatname" as an address.

Is this realistic ? It appears there are custom issues to deal with.

Any advice on how to get a small package shipped ?

OPT - OPT - Office des Postes et Télécommunication.

try chronopost,,french registered mail, regular flights to hiva oa so should not be a problem, but maybe a bit slow.

i have had stuff sent to french islands in the indian ocean with no problem, the post master acts as customs officer, take the ships papers along when picking up the parcel.,should be no duty on yacht in transit spares
