Sunset Beach/Huntington Beach

Considering moving the boat to Huntington Beach for a change. Would appreciate any input on that area pros/cons, what the community is like, boating issues etc... Have done San Francisco & San Diego quite a bit. Love Newport but $$$$$. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Re: Sunset Beach/Huntington Beach

If you're planning on Huntington Harbor, bear in mind the bridge for PCH at the enterance. That is if you are a sailboat. I used to live in Surfside and it was quite a hoot watching the un-informed get their mast stuck in the middle of the bridge! Other than that it is a nice harbor and have a kick butt Christmas parade. Down side is that you are downwind most of the time from L.A. L.B. harbors and the soot is a pia. Every morning I would wash and wipe the boat down. I was a corp.capt. at that time but still....
Close to Seal Beach, acroos the street from Sunset Beach and Surfside, easy access to the 405 Belmont Shores and L.B. Marina is closer than Newport plus a lot less flash and glitter!
Good Luck!
