Thursday Island to Port Moresby

We are in the planning stages of this trip later this year and would appreciate any advice. Am particularly interested to hear if anyone has visited Eastern Fields. I understand that this reef is visited occasionally by dive boat operators from PNG. If anyone has visited or has any information as to whether this reef has a viable anchorage area, weather permitting, please let us know. Any advice is most welcome. Regards Pete

Could be worth looking into the rally to Port Moresby, from what I've heard it costs around$200 and includes a month in the Royal Moresby yacht club marina.

Thanks for the suggestion. May end up going that way but current plan is to explore the coast up to the Cape then across to POM. Last leg into the wind!

Grew up diving out of Port Moresby. Was young so can't remember where we went. But the reefs drop offs and wrecks were the best I've been on. Still looking for better. Hope you enjoy your trip.
