Re: Where to go from here that's the million dollar question?

[QUOTE=Vandeusen;3899167]I recently purchased a 45 ft Bruce Roberts with Chinese junk sales. I am sitting in Lopez Island Washington debating what to do next lol.

Ae you still in the San Juans or nearby? I live in Seattle, I have 0ver 20 years experience sailing junk rigged sailboats, I have sailed S down the West and East coasts of the US and through the Panama Canal. If you need help evaluating your junk sails or learning how to use them, I could spend a day with you if you get over to the mainland -to a place where I could meet you - Anacortes or Port Townsend for example. I have installed and used both tiller and wheel based autopilots so I might be of some help in sorting out what direction to go in that regard.

Have you had a look at the Junk Rig Association website (https://www.junkrigassociation.org/)? There is an enormous amount of information there about designing and building junk rig sails. Many junk rig sailors make their own because it is pretty much impossible to find a sailmaker with experience in building junk sails, except for a couple of outfits in Europe. The rest of us buy a sewing machine and get to work! Look for the files posted by Arne Kverneland.
