No pets are allowed on national park islands. In addition, in the Whitsunday Islands National Park, dogs are not permitted on any beach, even intertidal areas.

Note sure what the extent of the "Whitsunday Islands National Park" is, but I'm sure it is defined on the site somewhere.
Kaspa de wonda dawg (see profile pic) is rumoured to have travelled thru the Whitsundays on more than one occasion. Dogs are definitely not allowed ashore no matter where the tide mark is, BUT I think I did him hear take the dinghy in, very early in the morning and after dark for a quiet stroll on the beach with a few doggie mates. However these are only rumours and don't quote me on them.
Capt K would never break Nazi Park Rules, however

Re: Whitsundays for Summer

A point to watch out for. There's a (faded) red steel ketch that hangs around the Whitsundays, and if he sees you take a dog ashore he will photograph you and report you.

IIRC it's called Pebs or something similar.

Are you & Kaspa getting into the mangroves for the forthcoming Christmas cyclone??

They are suggesting it won't be too high intensity

Cheers

Pelican is in Cullen Bay marina. I have a feeling in my cockles that Cyclone ?Greg or Garry or whom ever is going to miss Darwin. Fingers crossed. I am stuck at work but have to get the foresail off the furler asap The low is 999kpa - so not a cyclone YET.
FROM BOM
"A Cyclone WATCH is current for a developing tropical low for coastal areas from
Dundee Beach to Nhulunbuy, including Darwin.

At 9:30 am CST a Tropical Low was estimated to be
145 kilometres northeast of Snake Bay and
220 kilometres north northeast of Darwin and moving east southeast at 6
kilometres per hour.

A tropical cyclone is expected to develop early Sunday north of the Top End.
GALES are not expected in coastal areas in the next 24 hours, however gales
could develop later."
