Supertanker from Arabia to US Taken Off Somalia

Here we go again. This time it's oil from SA bound for US.

Somali pirates hijack Saudi oil tanker going to US
(AP) – 8 hours ago
NAIROBI, Kenya — The EU's anti-piracy force says Somali pirates have seized a super tanker carrying crude oil from Saudi Arabia to the United States.
Cmdr. John Harbour, a spokesman for the EU Naval Force, says the Greek-owned Maran Centaurus was hijacked Sunday about 800 miles (1,300 kilometers) off the coast of Somalia.
Pirates have increased attacks on vessels off East Africa for the millions of dollars of ransom that can be had. A tanker full of oil would be worth millions and could pose a huge security and environmental threat to the region.
Harbour says there were 28 crew members on board the 300,000-ton ship.

Well, nukes are not an option, now that Rummy is no longer at the pentagon, but, one would think some sort of military move against the pirates will be contemplated now. $100 million worth of oil plus the value of the tanker will surely provoke some sort of response. The last tanker was ransomed for $3mil if memory serves.

i wonder if you could take Somolia hostage? Make the pirates turn over all the loot they have and the hostages... hmmm. turn the tables and see how they like it. Start killing a terrorist every minute that they don't comply. Either way, it all turns out good.
LoL

I for one advocate the European solution to Somali piracy.

Captured pirates are given a stern talking-to and prompty returned to their vessels.

As we have seen, the efficacy of this technique is beyond reproach.

And don't forget, that they return they're guns to them also. Probably give them newer weapons and ammo on top of it all...
