Crew Available: advice?

im a 30 year old male with who comes with a 1 year old trained dog does anyone have any advice on sailing with a dog?

I won't take a crew that comes with an animal. But that's me.

If you are looking to go to different countries, it can be complicated.

It will be tough to find a crewing position with your dog. It would have to be with "dog people," and most of them will already have a dog onboard. It completely changes how you cruise. Most dogs need to be walked at least a couple of times a day, and that means stopping someplace where that can be done. Not always easy or convenient. Plus, on saltwater you have to wash the dog off all the time, or else they bring all that yucky salt down below. We cruise with a small Schipperke onboard and it is a lot of extra work. Personally, I would say forget it. You might find someone willing to do it, but I think it will be difficult.
